a fresh look for Jarrell's american legion post 317

This past summer, American Legion Post 317 in Jarrell began a campaign to refurbish the community’s well-used legion hall. One of Post Commander John LaVrar’s top priorities was to give the interior of the legion hall a new coat of paint, and soon word spread that gallons of paint were needed. While several generous individual community members donated 15 gallons, the number (and the coverage) fell short of the 60 gallons required to complete the job. Don’t worry – banks do more than loan money! When Jarrell’s local banks heard of the shortfall, Eagle Bank, Schwertner State Bank, and Community Bank collectively donated funds to purchase the remaining 45 gallons of paint. Commander LaVrar plans to begin the actual painting later this fall and says volunteers are always needed.
